You know how people always say you should ask yourself what you would do for free and then you should choose that as your career? Well that’s exactly how I feel about taxes and accounting. In fact, I have done taxes for free. I did taxes for VITA (a free tax service for retirees and low-income people) one tax season because I wanted to do taxes so much I volunteered.
So, now you’re probably saying to yourself, “Great! I guess you’ll do my taxes and accounting for free!”. Nice try...but I need to make a living too. But, you will be getting someone who enjoys what they do and works hard to make sure you’re getting the best help with your tax and accounting work.
I encourage all my clients to ask questions, “pick my brain”. People are often a little intimidated when it comes to their taxes and books. Don’t be. If you are not sure of something ask. It’s the only way to learn. Plus, I feel like I am helping you out with the things that are important to you. I like this work and that means I like talking about it with clients.
I went into business to focus on the things I like to do. I like taxes and bookkeeping. So, that’s what I do. I do all the work myself from the data entry right on up to the tax returns and financials. I’m involved every step of the way so I know how your business works and I know when things look right and when they don't. When you come to me, you know I have done all the work so I know your situation. I stay small so I don’t have to spend my time managing and I buy what I need and need what I buy so I can charge affordable rates and spend more time doing the work I love.
